I haven't the slightest idea what's going on with these menu adapters. I had the site working fine in IE7, but in Firefox it looked like garbage. So, I decided to use the Menu Adapter to try to get a uniform appearance. Now I can't even get the menu items to center horizontally on the page. There are all these AspNet-Menu-Link, -Selected etc. CSS elements that don't do anything logical. None of the menu items appear the way I want, which is simply unselected = inset and white, selected = outset and lightgray, hover = lightgray. Instead I get double outsets and inset-outsets and all kinda crazy stuff.

Does anyone have any clue what this stuff means?
