Teched Amsterdam, Round 2
  • Yesterday's keynote was as boring as the Orlando one, but more, because it was actually the same content ;)
  • In Orlando, the MSDN Magazine team gave us a "booth survival pack" with snacks, aspirins, etc. I miss it!
  • The lunch room is too far from the exhibit hall, so I'm eating snacks. The snack food in the event is so healthy that I'm starting to feel sick ;). Even the ice creams are "snack size".
  • I had to use an AZERTY keyboard. It was an interesting experience, but the pain was worth the t-shirt I got.
  • I finally met Frans!! One of the reasons I wanted to come to Amsterdam was to check if the day had 48 hours here, as it's the only way I imagined Frans could do everything he does. We had a very nice conversation and had fun talking bad about other competitors ;).

Back to the booth...

TechEd Amsterdam - First Impressions

Quick notes

  • The TechEd Europe backpack is much better than the TechEd US bag.
  • The damn Marriot want to charge me 20 euros per day for internet access!! Even if those won't come out of my pocket I cannot pay that money for internet access. I tried to find a wireless network in the hotel, and found one, that cost 13 euros per hour!
  • Amsterdam trams are cool but you need to hold on thightly if you don't want to end up in the floor.
  • It looks that the business model for some bars is to charge you for going to the bathroom. So, you drink 4 beers, and then you need to pay 0.5 euros to let them go.

OK, let's go to the keynote.

TechEd Europe

I'm in Amsterdam, in TechEd's Exhibit Hall. It's my first time here and it looks like a great city. We are in the VSIP Partner Zone, booth B40, so come and say hi!
