Hunting Godzilla in .NET...

asp.netPro Mag : Readers Choice Awards

asp.netPRO magazine is collecting votes on developers' picks on best products available.  Take the time to vote on your favorite .NET application or component.

No, I am not affiliated with asp.netPRO or any of the software candidates, I am just in to giving out kudos when they're due.

It's a conspiracy, they aren't putting any of the free open source projects there. It appears that they are only putting people there that will/have purchased adds in their magazine. This is part of the reason I don't think I'm going to renew my subscription when it expires.

Brief list of things they are missing:
nUnit
SharpDevelop
(I'm drawing a blank on more, but you get the picture)

Is there no editorial pre-selection? Did marketing write this poll?

Why is MS Commerce Server not on the list?
Same for MS Content Management.

Nothing does more for me on a daily basis than Visual Studio.Net , other people feel the same way about SharpDevelop or WebMatrix.

I pretty much answered None through the whole thing.

They didn't just leave out the imporant free products, they left out a lot of the important paid products. Homesite is listed as a code editor but Dreamweaver isn't?!?!

I answered "none" on all but 2 or 3 questions.

Heh, yeah I kind of wondered about the open source thing too. Most of the components/apps I use are open source. Becuase that my voting was very limited like Shannon mentioned, I only have only used or heard of a few of them.

Well, not that I've posted I can see eveyrone had similiar feelings.

This does appear biased, as I wrote to the editor on this. Nowhere is listed DotNetNuke, or .Text which are probably some of the most popular resources on the Web. Many of the resource sites listed are sites actually losing popularity according to the various ranking sites out there, and yet the up and coming sites are no where to be found. It definitly seems biased in what they decided to list on the poll.
