So I've got this problem.  Every time a beta or technology preview comes out, I eagerly get a copy, anxiously install it, and excitedly work out a Hello World project. And then I stop. Not out of laziness.  Not because I've lost interest.  It's just that I don't have any other non-trivial project to work on.

This happened to me on the .net betas, more recently on the Office 2k3 betas.  And now I'm afraid it’s going to happen on .NET 2.0 and Longhorn.  I've installed the PDC Whidbey and the Longhorn Alpha.  I did a Hello World WAML and Hello World ASPX.  And now I’m stuck.

Am I alone in this? Is there a list of sample project suggestions out there that I simply don't know about?  Ugh, I just don’t want to be caught behind the curve ... especially this time and especially with Longhorn.

Some news from MSNBC:

Microsoft will retire several of its products next week, including Windows 98 and SQL Server 7, to comply with a court order related to its dispute with Sun Microsystems over Java. In a posting to Microsoft’s developer Web site, the company lists several older products that are being phased out and that will no longer be available to customers as of Dec. 15.

Aparantly, they're pulling them off of MSDN, too ... if you need to support some of the things they're retiring, make sure to get your download on!

P.S. Hello World, i've started a blog here, etc, and so on :-). Thanks frankarr for passing the link to signup.
