I liked the article and I feel the pull between "pure code" and "getting it done".

I very rarely visit slashdot, but I went yesterday and there was a thread about the Petzold article, it has some good comments.

Edit: I missnamed the posting, so I've updated it to what I hope is more correct.

I thought YOU were Slashdotted. I was going to say "well congratulations!" But it seems you weren't ;-)

Just to be clear: the term 'slashdotted' means: your website went down because it was mentioned on the FP of slashdot and a lot of people visited the website because of that. So it doesn't mean: 'you're on the FP of /.', it actually means the site went down because of too much traffic. ;)
