Top 2 reasons why WMP10 isn't my audio player
1) No OGG support. Come on Microsoft, you can do it. I know you can. You were even willing to ( apparently ) pony up the money to include high bitrate mp3 encoding. You can't hire a contract/temp developer for like a month to add support for completely...

mp3s, album art, and c#
So I was messing around with Winamp and this plugin which pops up some toast when the track changes. The latest version will use the windows xp “folder.jpg” feature to show the album art for the track if it can. I thought this was pretty cool...

WMP 10
WARNING: RANT AHEAD So, ya, Windows Media Player 10 is coming out soon. Yawn. Come on Microsoft, add Ogg Vorbis support. The format is completely open. Heck, somebody even already made the directshow filter for ogg . Andy wants tag/media library support...

Thinking about trees
I just got back from one of my semi-regular midnight-ish walks after a long day of coding. It was a fairly windy nite, and the trees were fairly alive with the creaks and the rustling… so they were attracting my attention. Back in the day, I was...

The anonymous wikki under fire
I would be seriously angry if this happened to me. Of course, any site or application which accepts anonymous 3rd party content is going to fall for this eventually… but it’s just so sad that we can’t have a single thing that spammers...

a little facelift
As cool as the msdn css was, I decided to brand my blog with my own site's look. So I sat down for about 15 minutes and now, those of you not using aggregators should see a metabuilders style. Hope you like it.

why do i get sucked into these things
I generally don't indulge in the define-me-tests that tend to sweep across blogs. What OS am I? What Matrix character am I? blah blah blah... But I do happen to think that Meyers Briggs is fairly useful and accurate. I've taken the M-B test quite a few...

media player is my latest target
Media Player has always had two major flaws that stopped me from using it. No support for ogg No support for listening to music in one player while watching random videos in another Now that you can hack media player to play ogg , i figured, hey, I can...

interest in waves
Over the time that I've had metabuilders up, I've noticed one thing in particular that has always made me wonder about global community and human behavior. I have many controls available on metabuilders. Some are more popular than others, understandably...
