    Just ran into this and thought I’d share.  If you are trying to connect to SQL Server from your Web application running on Windows 7 or Windows 2008 R2 and you’re getting a message that looks like this: Failed to generate a user instance of SQL Server due to failure in retrieving the user's local application data path.
