Up from the zone

Been in the zone for almost two weeks now, working on a project almost 24/7, so much in the zone I now sport a beard and look very hairy indeed. Hoping that I will grab some spare time over the weekend, before the zone pulls me back in :)
  • Spent some time last week on moving a series on NUnit tests from 2.0 to 2.2, for various reasons the platform I work to is running .NET 1.0 and I attempted to upgrade NUnit to run on it. I ran a posrt on it to see if anyone had any clues as to why it refused to run, in the end I ran out of time so I shelfed the post. Would love to know if anyone has run Nunit 2.2 on .NET 1.0?
  • Interesting post on the FVEE conference from Michal, I did see Dans post on the conference but did'nt know there was slides, Michal has the skoop. Looking through the slides its nice to see Paolo's slides on the Mono VM,  gives a nice CLI overview with a great cross platform slant (while keeping ethos of a cross language runtime) , digs into some of the JIT details (would love to see some whitepapers on the Mono JIT work) and then gives a Mono road map (would love to see/hear some of the thoughts into the future of runtime for scripting languages).
  • Ben has a great post on some the performance work he has been doing lately, as Ben asks if you have any suggestions on his idea's or want to help out then give him a shout.
  • John hopes "that PHP6, 7, 8, 9 and so forth continue to develop, but in the direction of being ported to run on advanced virtual machines such as Parrot, JVM and CLR, supported by more powerful frameworks, and not language featuritis". PHP with the Pint project is looking to run on Parrot but its a natural host for PHP, the CLR and JVM are still not friendly to scripting languages and its only when they move in that direction will language ports (such as PHP) be done.
