OSS in .NET

I was going to comment on Jeremys post on OSS in the Microsoft world but decided to write it up here. While I agree that OSS in the .NET world has a some way to go, it's getting better and better all the time. The very project I lead, MbUnit, is the one I am most proud of. While she conforms to XUnit style testing, you also have a powerful range of fixtures and asserts at your beck and call. As a OSS project MbUnit is very young and yet has has vast minds in its user and developer base adding some unique features. Those folks are adding code, ideas and features every day and its down to those folks that are now making MbUnit much, much better. In addition I must also add that in my mind one of the first, oldest and most successful OSS projects in the .NET space is NUnit. The success of NUnit is down by and large to efforts of Charlie Poole as a thought leader in the space, you only have to see the work that Charlie is doing on NUnitLite to see they are carving a path of their very own. In my mind theres two examples of successful .NET OSS projects that are innovating.
