Stephen Walther just published links to the video, slides and sample code for his Ajax talk at MIX09: http://stephenwalther.com/blog/archive/2009/03/22/mix-slides-code-and-session-recording.aspx It’s pretty cool to see all the work we put into Ajax this past year or so presented at MIX. This is a really nice presentation, like Stephen’s always are. Another presentation I had lots of fun watching (not just because the speaker is making an incredible impression of me but also because I’ve been spending a good part of my time lately contributing to the application he’s showing) is Rob Conery’s. Rob is showing an interesting way to develop ASP.NET applications, aimed at ease of use and customization rather than architectural purity. Check it out...

I’m flying to San Jose tonight for tomorrow’s OpenAjax Alliance face to face meeting , which Microsoft is hosting. On Friday, we are also hosting a new event that aims at establishing a dialogue between JavaScript library developers and Microsoft. We’ll have talks from the IE, Visual Studio and ASP.NET teams, as well as talks from members of the community. This should be very interesting. Then I’ll be flying to L.A. for the PDC . If you’re going to be there and want to chat, feel free to drop me a note at bleroy at Microsoft. I’ll be in the room during Stephen Walthers ’ session on jQuery and ASP.NET on Tuesday from 5:15 to 6:30 (403AB). I’ll also do a short demo in Scott Hunter ’s talk on the ASP.NET 4.0 Roadmap on Monday from 1:45 to 3:00...
Thanks to everyone who attended! You can download the deck and links to the code here: You’ll find the code for my ajax samples and links to other samples I showed there. Normally, I write my own demos and make code code available for download. However, this time around, most of my demo code was based on the .NET 3.5 Enhancements Training Kit. I blogged about the kit here: http://blogs.msdn.com/devkeydet/archive/2008/08/18/free-training-on-net-framework-3-5-sp1-and-asp-net-mvc.aspx The kit has just about everything I showed in my demos and more! I did make some updates to the training kit code to reflect ASP.NET MVC preview 5 and my own coding preferences. However, I need to check with the team that built...
Stephen Walther has a pretty cool post on using the new file-only version of the Ajax Control Toolkit from an MVC application: http://weblogs.asp.net/stephenwalther/archive/2008/08/22/asp-net-mvc-tip-36-create-a-popup-calendar-helper.aspx Read More...
Looking for free introductory training on the .NET 3.5 SP1 & ASP.NET MVC? Head over to Jonathan Carter's blog to get all the details on the .NET 3.5 Enhancements Training Kit RTM . Information and links to download a kit that has presentations, demos, and labs covering what's new in ASP.NET AJAX, ASP.NET Routing, ASP.NET MVC, ASP.NET Dynamic Data, ADO.NET Data Services, ADO.NET Entity Framework, WCF, and Visual Studio 2008 SP1. If you've seen any of my 3.5 SP1 or my older "ASP.NET Futures" presentations, then you are already familiar with some of the content in the kit. I used an early release of the kit as the foundation for some of my demos. The kit has come...
Thanks to everyone who attended! Here are the links to the decks and code for the sessions. I don't have the content from the LINQ & VSTO sessions yet, but will update this post when I get them.
