Try to copy files with TotalCommander. Iz works very good for me.

I hear there were speed issues with copying files in vista and sp1 should atleast speed this up a little.

In your case i'm guessing it'll get down too 44236 days and 13 hours :)

It's difficult to guess how long a file operation takes since there are a lot of factors you have the count for. Since you are moving 24.532 items i can understand why the estimate is strange/very wrong.

Estimating is hard for files, but Windows Vista really does strange things with it, deleting an shortcut on my desktop for example takes like 30 seconds also and that's just a 2KB file.

Thnx for correcting me, i didnt noticed..i fixed it..jup, GB was burned...

@1millionmegabytes: i use IE7 also(especially now with IE7Pro addin), but those 'useless extension' in firefox work pretty fine for me...

Uh... you are confusing MegaBytes with GigaBytes...

Make sure you get your numbers straight when you report the 'bug', most likely caused by one of those useless extensions that 'everyone must have'.

Nah, I'll stick to IE7.

More like 1,4GB probably, but there's work going on to (finally) improve the crazy memory use of Firefox.

I love Firefox by the way, use it 99,9% of the time.
