ad-hoc reporting with asp.net - question/advice?

One of my clients is looking for a good ad-hoc, easy-to-use intranet tool that runs under ASP.NET for doing reporting. They tried Crystal and hated it, and want to stay within the HTML generated realm. i downloaded ezWebReports and it seems pretty nice. What's better is they love the price. i don't want to make a decision until i've evaluated a lot of packages, so if anyone has any advice on this front, drop a note.

+1 for Active Reports for .NET. They're awesome, and the support thru their forums is real nice.

This question just came up in our local SQLServer SIG list serve. Someone reminded us that the design part of reporting services is (for now) dependent on Visual Studio .NET. I am STILL awaiting a response about getting a beta so I haven't seen it hands on. But it seems to be that this really is the case. So Reporting Services (double check though) would be ruled out by that. I have heard gobs of great stuff about ActiveReports. I have a license but haven't used it yet since I haven't started my "reporting on the web" project quite yet.

Another for one here for active Reports we are using it for several projects. One that you used to work on. It can export to PDF, HTML, RTF, and with some careful design Excel
