MS Suing for "Baby-talk?" (nontechnical)

apparently, ms is pretty annoyed at a 17-year-old who registered his domain name in such a way that it sounds like “microsoft” (when spoken in baby talk, that is). IMO, this seems a wee bit harsh. nonetheless, it definitely makes for an interesting read. opinions anyone?

A few thoughts:

1) I don't have an opinion because I don't have all of the facts and I'm not going to just believe a 17 year old who registered a domain because it sounded like "Microsoft".

2) Microsoft, like any other company, should protect it's name and intellectual property like a bull dog - it is, afterall, what makes the company.

3) The kid obviously registered the domain name knowing it sounded like "Microsoft". He runs a web design service through the site and obviously thought he would benefit from using the name.

4) If we find out, after this all plays out, that Microsoft really offered him $10 and/or didn't do a very good job working with him to obtain ownership of the domain then Microsoft should be ashamed. A lot of "ifs" there though.

I think it is some MS BS. Could there really be that much harm towards Microsoft by some kid, who's name sounds like "Micro" (Mike Rowe), to have a domain name that sounds like "Microsoft". Seems a bit over the top on Microsoft's part to me.
