Daily Dilbert Updated

I've updated my Dilbert Image Service to handle the redesign of the Dilbert.com site that broke it today.  It's nice to have a portal with good content, but it's better to have a portal with a today's Dilbert comic!  Nothing brings users to your portal like Dilbert.  I hope you enjoy the updated service.

Thanks for the update! The new flash overkill Dilbert home page is terrible. :(

It seems that Dilbert.com has updated the website and your service only displaying image of 16 May 2008 today. Could you please post a solution for this. I was using your service in one of my application.

FYI:- I tried their RSS fees and its only returning data till May 16 2008.

Thanks,

Dileep

I've been using your daily dilbert but noticed it hasn't changed in the last week. Do you plan to continue to update or do I need to link to another site.

I'm using the Dilbert RSS feed to get the URL of the latest image.  It appears the feed may have had a problem. However, today the feed is returning the same image as the dilbert.com home page.

I was also caching the images for an entire day, which could cause problems.  I've shortened this to 1 hour.  Hopefully this will solve the issues.  Let me know if you have further problems.

Hi, when I go to www.dotnetpowered.com/dailydilbert.aspx it's still showing the May 16th comic.

It's the same for our portal as well.  If I add a RSS Viewer web part and specify the Dilbert RSS feed URL I only get the May 16th comic too.

It's strange because if I specify the same feed URL in NetVibes it works with no problems.

Anybody have a solution for this yet?  It's bringing down morale at my office! :)

Thanks,

Rene

I pushed another update to the service tonight.  It is returning the correct image tonight...hopefully it will pull the right one in the morning.

Sorry for impacting everyone's morale.  ;-)

We still seem to be having problems with the feed.  Instead of showing an old one now it just shows nothing again.  Anyone have a resolution?  You would be surprised how protective people get of their daily dilbert fix!
