Micropolis UI Sneak-a-Peek

clip_image002

As you can tell, I really suck at running a city. By the year 2023 nobody likes me, power blackouts are everywhere and pollution has consumed the city creating a race of carbon dioxide breathing mutants. The UI is Python using Glade.

Yes, the numbers are real and being fed from the Micropolis game engine.

No, source is not available yet as we're still working building it out (and making it pretty, oh so pretty).

Time for the citizens of Micropolis to rise up and overthrow their inefficient, wasteful, and corrupt city management!

To arms Micropolians!

@Tom: You should sharpen your Python programming skillz and program yourself a revolution!

I like the look. Not to take anything from the original game but the interface is very poor by today's standards and really needs updating before anything else is touched.

Still, a good start...

Just a quick point. It would probably be better from a usability point to put the status / message bar at the bottom (the one that says 'Blackouts reported. Check power map').

Pretty bad that they've removed the plane crash disaster due to 9/11. I can't help but think that's a bit to PC.

@Steely: It will be. Just a slipup when I was messing around with the UI and I didn't realize it was in the screenshot.

How is this coming along? I know I'm curious how things will be code wise.
