Whats up with .NET Rocks! and Mondays this week

First of all, Chris Kinsman is our guest this week on .NET Rocks!:

Chris Kinsman drops in to talk about some of the projects he's been working on lately. Topics include data warehousing, SQL Integration Services, the recently released Patterns and Practices Enterprise Library, and a Compact Framework project to interface with slot machines! Cool stuff, indeed.

Secondly, regarding all this hubub about iTunes and our bandwidth: iTunes no longer lists our feeds for some reason, so we're back to .torrents in the podcast feeds, with one exception. The AAC podcast feed gives you the last 3 .m4b files, suitable for iTunes. We'll try to get that one listed again, or possibly create a new iTunes feed. If it wasn't 4 in the morning I'd be working on that right now.

What this means is more bandwidth for everyone. I hope we never have to go through that crap again. Get your act together, Apple!

And lastly, Mondays this week is spectacular. We've been away for a few weeks on a secret mission. You'll have to listen to find out what it is. As of this writing, Mondays is not online yet, but another hour of editing and it will be. If you're reading this after 5AM Eastern Time it's up and you can go get it.

Even if Apple does not list your feed people can still subscribe to it in iTunes under the "Advanced\Subscribe to Podcast" option.

Yes, but if they do that, they can use the AAC option, which provides the last 3 episodes directly in AAC format (no torrents).

I get both DNR and Mondays my the manual subscription method in iTunes and they both just downloaded as usual.

iTunes has a great integrated solution and I have too many subscriptions to manage because of it, but that can only be good for podcasting.

Are you subscribed to the AAC feed? That one is now the only one that downloads files directly without torrents, and so still works with iTunes

Yeah, I had that problem. So I busted out my trusty Visual Studio .NET 2003 and whipped out a little app that let me bypass this little annoyance of Apple's.
