MPx200 Unlock'd!

Well, it's complete! I unlocked my MPx200 this morning and am now running it on T-Mobile.

I paid GSMLocker.com $69 and got the username and password in an email this morning. Downloaded the application and instructions from MPXCodes.com and unlocked my phone.

I ran into an issue or two. First I couldn't get connected from my workstation, apparently the MPXCode software was trying to access a port that was being blocked by the servers here at work. So I dialed out on a laptop, that corrected the problem.

Next I was unable to get the phone out of bootlock mode (hold the left arrow down when it's turned off and plug into the USB sync cable to engage bootlock). To get out of it I had to remove the battery, replace, and then try booting, that corrected things.

Now I just need to get the phone setup with the T-Mobile settings, it'll be nice now, with T-Zones from t-mobile I have unlimited downloads, so I don't have to worry about connecting to the net on the phone, with AT&T I was limited to 1mb a month.

Thanks T-Mobile and GSMLocker! I hope AT&T Wireless burns in hell! ;) Also I wish I had taken down the contact info for the girl from AT&T who got snippy with me yesterday when I wanted to unlock my phone, she told me it was impossible to do....

  • So, how do you feel about AT&T again? ;-)

  • welcome to the T-Mobile!

also it's a good thing that you have switched since you MPx200 is about to become obsolete on AT&T's network.

  • I had to get my MPx200 unlocked as well, since the only GPRS provider in my area was Cingular, and I already had a contract with them. Anyway I got lucky and found a reputable dealer on eBay doing a search for mpx200 and unlock, for only about $10. I know either Motorolla or AT&T shut down the unlock code database so it isn't as easy as it once was, so maybe the price has gone up.

  • tried them and worked like baby, i will say use gsmlocker.com

  • Hi,

I bought AT&T MPX200 when in the USA, worked fine.

But now I am back home in South Africa using a different network carrier (Vodacom) that operates on the gsm 900 frequency.

Can anyone help me unlock this phone pls??!?!?
