Gmail invites! How bad do you deserve one?

Well, I got some Gmail invites to give away! Ala Marcie and Chris I'll be giving them away, but you must do a little work to get them.

I'll do two invites in this contest, post here or email me at christoc a@t gmail with your stories. Be creative, original, and most of all FUNNY!

I've got more to give away, but will be using them on a contest on another web site that I run for racing.

Thanks to Chris*oc I've got Gmail! Marcie had a little contest last week to give away two GMail invites, I submitted this picture to Marci's little contest, but failed to win! Lucky for me Chris posted a comment in Marci's blog that he also had some invites to give away.

A big thanks to Chris! It's kind of funny how close our chosen names are, mine being christoc and his being chrisoc. Wierd eh?

If I get any Gmail invites to give away I'll be sure to return to the favor with a little contest of my own!

Copy Protection on CDs

Velvet Revolver's new CD Contraband is out today. It's got copy protection on it from Sunncomm. It really is pretty pathetic how easy it is to circumvent that protection. I merely did this for backup purposes, but could just have easily done it for distributing it on a p2p network.

If you're interested in reading about my attempt and success of this check out this post. I keep it from the aggregate feed to keep people from getting TOO upset about the topic.

I am in no way supporting the illegal distribution of media, just showing how things can be sidestepped.

Honoring Ronald Reagan

I don't usually try to post political topics here, but today is a sad day. Ronald Reagan has passed away.

May his memory live on in everything this country stands for.

City Of Heroes anyone? Almost time to fly!

I realize this is a technology focused blog, but I'm reaching out to my tech bretheran here for a little fun.

Anyone here play City of Heroes? I purchased it last night and played for about 4 hours before I finally had to make myself go to bed. I have played a MMPORG in a long time, I started when everquest first came out and played for a few months. Played a little EQ on the PS2 during the beta phase, but stopped once it wasn't free anymore. Then I purchased Star Wars Galaxies and played it exactly one time!

City of Heroes on the otherhand will be getting played over and over again, I can feel it.
