Last week there was a security scare within the DNN world. I won't get into many of the details, but it was actually blown way out of proportion by what used to be a prominent vendor in the DNN community. Fortunately the security issues were not near as drastic as made out. Nonetheless there is a new DotNetNuke release available labelled as DNN 4.8.3.
You can download this update from dotnetnuke.com
I would recommend upgrading when you can, I will be upgrading all of my websites tonight. There should be some security information posted about what was corrected in this release in a short while.
I'm looking to start a list of GOOD hosting providers for the DotNetNuke Platform.
First, here is a list of basic things to look for in DotNetNuke Hosting providers.
Windows Operating System Support, preferably Windows 2003 or 2008
Microsoft SQL Server Database support, preferably SQL 2000 or 2005 or 2008
.Net Framework support, at least 2.0 if you want to run DNN 4 or greater, preferably 3.5sp1 support
Remote Desktop Access (this allows for easier installation and management, but is not absolutely required)
To assist anyone looking to get up and running on DotNetNuke, or to move away from other hosting providers to good DotNetNuke Hosts we'll compile a list below. If you have a provider that you use and are happy with please post a comment here, I will add to this list over time.
I'll start the list off, but would like input from other community members. The first two offer the minimal support with the basic packages for DNN, though they have more expensive packages that will get you RDP access.

Over the years of offering and providing DotNetNuke Training I've had the opportunity to train people from and travel to locations all over the United States. I figured it was time to put together a list of some of the locations I've been to and provided training to people from:
St. Louis, Missouri
Silver Spring, Maryland
Salt Lake City, Utah
I'm sure I've left a few places out! That doesn't include the numerous user groups I've presented at which I need to put together in another list!
If you're looking for DotNetNuke Training be sure to get in touch. Engage Software is an Official DotNetNuke Training Provider!
If you are looking to learn DotNetNuke come to the Capital DNN User's group meeting on Wednesday May 21st. I will be presenting at the user group covering beginning module development using WAP Projects in visual studio. I will be in the Washington area providing some training for a few clients we have in the area.
If you aren't in the Washington DC Area and are interested in learning more about DNN, check out the training classes that we put on at Engage Software. Engage Software provides the best way to learn DotNetNuke in a classroom environment, or through our onsite training.
