DotNetNuke Sessions at the upcoming St. Louis Day of DotNet

So if you have been under a rock lately, you might not have heard about the upcoming St. Louis Day of DotNet event at the end of August, the 28th and 29th. I’ve been working the past few weeks to try to get some DotNetNuke sessions lined up, and so far things are coming along nicely! We’ve got at least 4 sessions currently, and I believe we’ll have probably 8 total sessions if myself and Cuong Dang get a couple more submissions in there later today.

There are also a couple of other major players in the DNN World that are threatening to submit sessions (one did while writing this blog post, Will Morganweck from ActiveModules.com), so this is going to be an event you won’t want to miss! There will be a wide range of topics for DNN, from beginner to advanced, we hope to provide something useful to everyone relating to DNN.

As of right now I can confirm that DotNetNuke Core Team members Shawn Mehaffie, Mitchel Sellers, and myself Chris Hammond will be in attendance. Mitchel wrote the recently released DotNetNuke Module Programming book, and my book was recently published, DotNetNuke 5 User’s Guide, so you can come see some of the DotNetNuke Wrox authors in action!

If you’re in the Midwest you should be sure to come check out the event, while I will push you towards the DotNetNuke sessions there are over 40 sessions covering a wide variety of .NET related topics including

  • Silverlight
  • WPF
  • WCF
  • Visual Studio.NET 2010
  • DotNetNuke
  • Sharepoint
  • ASP.NET AJAX
  • ASP.NET MVC
  • SQL Server 2008
  • Test Driven Development
  • Agile Programming

Check out the current sessions list http://www.stlouisdayofdotnet.com/Sessions.aspx

The cost of the event is $100 for the two days, and includes breakfast and lunch both days, though that price goes up to $125 after August 7th.

The event will be held at the Ameristar Casino in St. Charles Missouri, which is probably 5 miles from the St. Louis airport. There’s a special at the hotel until the 7th of August, $130/Fri $170/Sat. Personally, I would find a hotel that is located near by, IMHO $130/night for anything in St. Louis is way high, but you should definitely look at making reservations soon!

One way to get to attend this event would be to sell your boss on the idea! For that I have a trick up my sleeve! Engage Software will be doing some of our DotNetNuke Classroom Training that week here in St. Louis. I’ve even worked out this special deal. If you sign up for our 2 day Module Development class (Mon/Tues), as well as our 2 Day DotNetNuke Skinning class (Wed/Thur) that week, we will pay for your Day of DotNet registration for Friday and Saturday. In order to take us up on that offer you need to get signed up for the classes before August 7th!

If you’re interested in speaking at the event let me know ASAP!
