C'est le printemps

But it is always the same thing in our IT world.

The Sleeper in the Valley

Les parfums ne font plus frissonner sa narine;
Il dort dans le soleil, la main sur sa poitrine
Tranquille. Il a deux trous rouges au coté droit.

Microsoft is having a contest for Tablet developers. Supposedly being administered by Fawcette. Of course, the prize is a Tablet. Hmmm. If you're already a Tablet developer, you already have a Tablet. What I really want is a tour of Bill Gates' house. Now wouldn't that be a prize that geeks would go for?

Je ne sais pas persévérer

Last evening, I read read L'Abandon by Florence Seyvos instead of working on custom datagrid control. This evening, I will still read another paper to help to translate a World of Ends in french (The Diplomatic Language :).

Can someone help me with some words.  I absolutely does not understand «It isn't even 6th grade science fair, when you get right down to it» and I have difficults with «just a fistful of statements stands...». And the «The Nutshell», what can I do with that ?

PostScriptum: Bienvenue.

En v'la des grilles en v'la

Since a few days, I seek how to have homogeneous datagrid. For presentation, it's rather simple: I must use style sheets. For functionalities, it's a bit more complicated. Everyone appears ok with basic datagrid control and seems to be satisfied to place it in a page then to define its properties more or less manually.

The bad news is that if you wish to add the possibility of exporting the grid towards Excel or to be able to select a line while clicking in any colone, it's necessary to pass again on all pages where you have used a datagrid control.

But this evening, I think I am on the good road. Thanks to Datagrid Girl, I found not badly articles on the creation of customs controls based on the datagrid control. I printed two of them from Dino Esposito whom I will read this evening, as soon as I would have returned at home:

Bonne nuit.
