Un peu de tout et n'importe quoi...

Satisfaction

Jesse made some changes to the .NET Weblogs Archives. Since I really like this way of aggregating and presenting posts, I allows myself to make some remarks (and especially to express some wishes).

  • Some posts are showed several times.
  • Can we have a link to the previous or next day at the top and the end of the page ?
  • Why not use the post title as a link to the blog entry ?
  • And minimize space used by head and foot of each post to view more messages without scrolling ?
  • Can you add a little ms-butterfly in front of Microsoft employes post title ?
  • Is there a rss feed for this archives ?

Yep. All are definately doable...maybe I'll knock them out this weekend?

The double post issue is an issue with dotnetweblogs.com that I am going to have to manually code a workaround for (I've been annoyed by this as well). I emailed scott, but no change so far, so I should probably go ahead and do it myself.

The basic issue is that the main feed doesn't has guids listed as "http://dotnetweblogs.com/xxxx/postxxx.aspx" while the sub feeds have "http://www.dotnetweblogs.com/xxxx/postxxx.aspx". The archiver doesn't know that both mean the same thing. Maybe the archiver should be smart enough to do this already? but it sure does seem strange to me that this the default behavior within dotnetweblogs.com in the first place.
