Today (technically yesterday, since it’s 3:26 AM already while I’m starting this), Mr. Adam Mohamed Meligy finally arrived home, after staying 9.5 days in nursery. This –dear audience- given Mr. Adam arrived to our world only in October 5, 2009, a date that the entire world will (sooner or later) always remember! Mr. Adam is now taking a personal cover, pretending to be a normal baby, while he is pretty professional, he cannot sometimes hide his special natures, being relatively quiet compared to normal babies, and highly responsive to touches and (believe it or not) spoken notes/requests. These are things that the world will remember once Mr. Adam finishes his first big achievement in the field he will take up for living (God Willing). Some...

Earlier this year, my wife, Nikki, and I started her own photography business, Purple Lemon Photography. We've had a lot of fun getting setup and figuring out how to run a busines, as well as seeing how people respond to the images that Nikki takes. Tonight marks a special night for us, and myself especially, because we finally launched her public facing website! Go take a look . This was a lot of fun for me, since it was the first site where I've been fully responsible for most every aspect. I've...( read more ) Read More...

When you visit Norway, it takes a week to recover. Ok, at least when I visit Norway, it takes a week. But that’s just a testament to the good time I had. As they say, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, but what happens in Oslo gets recorded as a .NET Read More......( read more ) Read More...

I was chatting with an old mate of mine, Lev Ozeryansky , with whom we graduated together computer science about 8 years ago (man, that was long time ago, but doesn’t feel like that). He’s a great developer, with lots of experience. Yesterday we have finally met and chatted a bit (guess about what). Two things I heard bothered me a lot. 1. You need more than 2 developers to do pair programming and being effective. 2. TDD is a waste of resources (where resources are developers, money, time, you name it) and only possible in big companies. Lev was doing TDD, but he was the only person to do so. Why didn’t this work for the entire company? It was considered a waste. Worse that that, it was mandated as a waste by the management to the point...

On May 18th, I will officially become part of Tellago . I will be joining a great team with people that I respect immensely like Jesus Rodriguez , DonXml , or Joe Klug to name a few. Thanks guys for give me this opportunity!!. I am leaving Clarius after almost two years of service. I got involved in a lot of interesting projects there, and what is more important, I had a chance to work with an excellent team of “all-start” developers. I would like to thank Clarius and wish them the best in the future! Read More...

I attended Techdays 2009 at Helsinki on 5th of March. It was the biggest MS event in Finland so far, measured purely by the number of audience. I had the honor to participate on Thursday and sit down and chat with many well-known experts like Peli de Halleux , Scott Galloway as well as hang around at the night party. One of the best picks was Peli de Halleux 's personal lesson about PEX (Automated White-Box Testing for .NET), I wholeheartedly recommend that every serious .NET developer at least takes a look at it. Made me feel stupid I haven't heard of it before as well as I didn't know really too much about the facts surrounding it (despite that I believe I know something about architecture and testability) Also, big thanks to people...

What fitting way to end 2008 than a list of my own version of technology-related highlights of 2008. Dell’s Acquisition of Equallogic – Ok. So technically this happened in November of 2007. But the acquisition wasn’t completed until early this year. After review of the devices, they are definitely a cost-effective NAS solution. What a great way to introduce storage solutions to small businesses. ASP.NET MVC – Again, this technically happened in 2007, but my first experiences really happened this year. What a great, clean way to build web applications. Flip MinoHD – When Pure Digital introduced the Flip Ultra, they introduced new competition to the digital media market. Now their pocket-sized camcorder sold over 1 million units during this year...
