The MVP Award is our way to say thank you for promoting the spirit of community and improving people’s lives and the industry’s success every day. • Honorary Canadian MVP

At the MVP Summit, Canadian MVPs carried valuable hockey pucks. It was an unannounced, "viral" contest where attendees who collected a full set of pucks won a genuine, Canadian Olympic Team hockey jersey. At lunch at the closing day Japanese MVP Takako Sakurai was still hunting for one last puck. Unfortunately, the winning pucks - and the contest jerseys - were all gone. I couldn't stand to see her go back to Japan without the Canadian jersey she tried so hard to win, so I peeled off mine (you can...( read more ) Read More...

  • Having lunch with Scott Hanselman and Phil Haack at the MVP Summit.

What a day! I just had lunch with Scott Hanselman and Phil Haack. Scott open a great discussion to engage everybody in the table. Now I know why he gets the big bucks. Then they got up and start presenting ASP.NET MVC. Both were MVPs before going to work for the big blue mother ship. I don't think they are talking about anything that is not public knowledge, in any case, I'll avoid posting about it in favor of caution. Follow me at twitter http://twitter.com/alpascual Cheers Al Read More...

  • Good Morning Seattle!

It's 6 AM and I found myself the last 2 years working in a project that we were talking on the ASP.NET MVP "table" last night. A hole in Twitter when people were trying to find me. Geo Twitter. I purchased the domain and I'll be working in adding a MAP to twitter so you can attach your message. So yesterday you could find me in 3 places: Explore the map here. http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&msa=0&msid=100163154003251361320.00044ae8feb5b8e66b095&z=17 Now I'll have to write the web interface for Geo Twitter and start thinking about the iPhone and other portable devices. Your ideas are welcome. Cheers Al Read More...

  • MVP: One step forward, 1 billion left to go.

So, Mix has started. I must say I’m very jealous. I even found myself looking enviously at a picture of the contents of the goody bag earlier....I must get a life. Anyway... Work has started on our MVP migration. Even I was struggling to keep a smile on my face. It’s not the passive view per se that’s caused me pain today, it’s the unit and spec tests that go alongside it. As we’re not doing the whole enterprise app straight away, there’s still lots left structured the ‘old way’. So much pain was caused trying to get the ‘new’ and the ‘old’ to sit alongside easily. The way we have decided to do it, is to start with the new pages first. Any new screens will use passive view. We will ‘upgrade’ the others as we go. With the addition of a new project...
