New PDA/Phone - Cingular 8525

After 2 years with an Audiovox SMT5600, and a new job that requires me to be somewhat more mobile, I broke down and got a Cingular 8525 through Amazon. (in my last job, I worked remotely for a good portion of the time, now I'm in a central office, working daily with users doing development as well as tech support on an existing system)

I've had it for about a 10 days now, and I'm loving it. I got a nice hardshell case the clips to my belt, and still allows easy access. It's actually a big enough phone to hold and have a conversation on (and with the hard shell, I'm not touching the screen itself when talking) and bluetooth works nicely as well.

This time around, I chose to get a PDA with phone functionality, and it serves both functions nicely. The keyboard is big enough to be quick typing, and the screen is a nice size for reading. I still haven't gotten my stylus use back up to speed, but it's getting there.

I can't wait for Windows Mobile 6 to be available. That announcement was the final decider in getting this phone. Looks like it'll be fall, though, so I guess I'll just have to enjoy it as it is.

I have had a good number of heat related problems with my Cingular 8525, and it looks like I am not the only one (forums.wireless.att.com/.../message).  I too love the phone (when it is working); I hope you don't have any of the same problems.  Good luck!
