Next Toronto .NET User Group Meeting March 18th

Our special guest (and user group member) this month is Vincent Mathias, Project Manager, at the Ontario Rental Housing Tribunal.  Vincent will be showcasing the E-Filing application, which is the first public facing .NET application that will be going into production in the Ontario Government.  Be one of the first to see this application demonstrated live.

Come and get a behind the scenes look at the architecture of a large scale public .NET application.  Learn how the “XCOPY” deployment abilities of .NET made it possible to deploy more than just “static content” on the government infrastructure servers.  See how ADO.NET was used to implement XML Schema and manage state on the web server.  Discover the extensive use of web services behind the scenes that implement a “service oriented architecture”, including interacting with credit card payment web services implemented in J2EE.  Also learn how XML serialization from ADO.NET was used to seamlessly communicate with the web services, and ultimately to using the XML in Oracle stored procedures.  And much, much more!

As usual this FREE event will be held at Microsoft Canada, 1950 Meadowvale Blvd, Mississauga (north of 401 at Mississauga Road exit).  There will be FOOD, DRINK, and PRIZES!!  (March 18th, 6:00PM)

Register on the web at http://www.torontoug.net.

Also a great thank you to our wonderful MSDN Canada sponsor, Craig Flannagan.  Hope to see you there!

(First post from the NewsGator plug-in, let’s hope it works!  Let me know if anything looks funny, other than all the pink.)
