Since it was fathers day, I got to take a break from the typical weekend of mowing the lawn and the other honey do's.

So I cracked open VS.NET to work on a new project I've been tinkering with:

Screen scrape a telnet session to a TeamSpeak Server (VoIP) and create a XML dump of the current users in channels.

For some reason or another, I was looking at Sonu Kapoor's XML How To Index (followed a link off of weblogs.asp.net) and landed here. To think I used to dislike blogs... :)

Anyway, I'm not creative outside of coding, so how about I throw you some mad RegEx code that I've written as part of my TeamSpeak app for a Gmail invite?

Here's the RegEx:

since Talk21 became part of the Yahoo empire, my girlfriend's email has become totally inaccessible to her. i'm off to TechEd Europe next week, and i can't afford the mobile phone bills keeping in touch with her, so i'd like to give her a decent email account before i go. hotmail suxxorz big time, and although hushmail has some tech kudos, she tried it and doesn't like it....so any chance of a GMail invite? it would make me _really_ popular.

HI, i would like to get that Gmail Invitation, mostly 'couse i have huge collection of email from the past 8 years, more than 0.8 gb. and it almost impossible to save it some where 'couse i have to share the computer.it's impossible to me, to get the invitation in other way 'couse i live in a small town, in a small city, from a poor country (antofagasta, Chile). So please have some mercy and let me end this search for a gmail account after more than 3 months.
the whole purpose for handing out gMail invites at this stage of google's project is pretty much beta testing. something i love working on. software or any type of computer related developement is something i love working on. right now i'm looking to possibly being a final tester for half life2 and halo 2. i would LOVE to add gMail to my list of things to help striengthen for the online community.

Everybody wants a gmail account for various reasons.
1. great file storage
2. lots of memory space
3. cool, simple layout
4. conversation style emails

and I think those reasons are great, but I want a gmail account so I can show off. I live in small univeristy town where not many people have caught on that gmail is the next hottest thing on the web, and very simply, I want to be the first one to have one. I want to be the sexy, popular geek that no one can beat. I think this endeavor is much much more worthy then wanting lots of file storage and a simple layout, right? Creativity under pressure. Ack! I'm SO not a clutch player. This is a huge blow to my ego, because until now I thought I did okay when under the gun. NO BIG DEAL! Just because something is limited, restricted, guarded, it is valuable! Thats normal human nature. BTDT. No big deal. I was never too interested in google mail anyway, I was way too happy with Yahoo. But I wanted to check out what all the fuss was about, and in 1 hour of trying, I was able to track a friend who had gmail invites. Having registered at gmail, I am un-impressed.
The "conversations" feature looks good, the interface is nice, simple and quick, and thats it. I am not too impressed by the "search your emails" feature. How many times have you had to really search for emails in your inbox.
The interface is clean and neat, and being from google, its here to stay, but spending your hard-earned $$ for a google account, give me a break. Pure Insanity! Everyone reading this will agree it no big deal when you too have a gmail account. Dont pay for the damn thing. Send me an email eye_am_stan at yahoo dot com. I will distribute any gmail invite that I get my hands onto. I would really like to dillute this exclusivity of the damn gmail thing. Drop me a line and keep checking your inboxes.
