Why I've been quiet...

I've been quiet this month, and I feel bad for it... I enjoy being an active member of the blogging community, and this month I've been a little slack.  I have a good excuse though; my father-in-law was diagnosed with kidney cancer last month, so I've been spending a lot of free time with my wife and her family.

He had his operation this weekend; they removed the kidney in question and he's doing fine.  We're all relieved!

Now that I'll be spending more time here in Atlanta (and not driving to Gainesville every weekend), I should be a more active blogger.  ;)

I'm glad he's doing better. Wish you all the best. Lets grab a beer some day after work...

I hope he continues to do well. My dad had renal cell cancer, and he had his kidney removed as well (along w/ a bone in his arm a year later that was replaced w/ a cadaver bone, something I didn't know they could do ;) ). Unfortunately, the cancer came roaring back 2 years later and he didn't make it. Renal cell cancer is fairly aggressive and the survival rates are not that good, but I hope your father-in-law makes it through OK.
