Venti Sumatra
South Burlington has a new (its first) Starbucks in the Shaws plaza on Shelburne Road. Vermonters treat these types of developments with general disdain, but those like myself who pay South Burlington taxes want the amenities as well as the aesthetics of Vermont rural living.
So anyway, I trip on into Starbucks (my second visit in a week) on my way back from the grocery store and realized I had the unique opportunity to go into a public place and utter two words only: “VENTI SUMATRA.”
Questions like “should we save room for cream?” were greeted with nods only. No thank you was extended to the attendant.
I did it. It was a kick. I don't think I'll get to enjoy doing this at too many locations other than Starbucks, however. Another example of lock-in!
VENTI SUMATRA!
