There's something about a moose encounter
Like a lot of people, I spend much of my energy looking at the edit window of the Visual Studio.NET IDE. That edit window quite often occupies my thought processes even when I'm not looking at it. But sometimes an event happens that dwarfs those mental preoccupations. This morning while driving on a rural Vermont road in South Burlington I encountered a moose.
There's something about a moose encounter that startles the senses and wakes up the soul beyond what might be considered an editor window drone. This moose--a young moose yet the size of a horse--was 100 feet from the road, trotting in parallel in a open field, wondering how in the hell he found himself in the 'burbs (or at least as much as we have them in Vermont.)
I turned the car around and followed him for a quarter-mile until he found safety in a wooded area.
I was hugely productive during the workday coding hours, and I think that moose had something to do with it.
