The Kindness of Coding Strangers

I post a fair amount of code giblets in my blog, putting my neck out on the block most of the time with developers pointing out my code's weaknesses.  I always appreciate those remarks muchly.

But today (and I won't point out the individual...yet!..) provided a comment on some code-centric item I recently posted and said something to the effect, “Hey, this article is right in line with the problem you've been having. Hope it helps.”  Completely unsolicited.

I thought that was awesome.

Uh-oh, gotta run.  My goldfish is slapping his body against the surface of the fish tank to remind me I haven't fed him in 3 hours.  Note to self, buy tropical fish for office fish tank when this bastard goldfish dies...

If you buy tropical fish make sure you get some Clown Loaches. They have personality plus and are really fun fish. Beware, they sleep on their side on the bottom of the tank, so you often think they're dead ;)

William. Good tip. My goldfish has a lot of personality, too. Unfortunately.

I wrote this app that hinged on this set problem, and some guy implemented five different approaches to optimizing it. Strangers can be so amazing.
