"Geeksongs" is soundtrack to the newly released film
"Aardvark'd: 12 Weeks With Geeks," a quirky look at the making of software from the
perspective of four young interns thrust into the hustle of New York City. More information
on the film is available on the Boondoggle Films website, www.boondogglefilms.com.

I now contribute to blogs at www.ardentdev.com and www.2signals.com. I would like to automagically have posts at either blog be linked to from here in a way that makes obvious the source blog and author. I tried the crossposting feature in dasBlog but the crosspost looks exactly like original content on this blog. I want some kind of "Posted at www.ardentdev.com/permalink by Derek Hatchard:" message to appear on this blog. Maybe what I need is one of those tools for hands-free link blogs but they still feel icky to me because people use them for mindless link blogging just to suck in AdSense revenue.
Any suggestions?

Today we (Ardent Development) launched The Ardent Dev Blog at http://www.ardentdev.com/blog, a geek-oriented blog about software development and life in a small software company.
Back in November, Jordan Lutes and I launched 2signals.com, a blog on technology, busniness, entrepreneurship, the Internet, and things like that. I call it the "business of technogeek". Check it out: http://www.2signals.com.
Why the new blogs? Well, there are numerous reasons:
- The blog software at weblogs.asp.net has not been updated in a while and there are some things I want to do that I just can't do here. The rumours are that it will be upgraded to Community Server 2.0 after the CS2 RTM (currently scheduled for mid Feb. 2006). I think I prefer having more control over my blogging software.
- I have two somewhat divergent blogging interests: deep technical (code, CTP experiences, etc.) and techno-business-industry (trends, ideas, etc.). The former will be posted at the Ardent Dev Blog in the future and the latter will be posted to 2signals. I will post updates here about posts on those two blogs.
- I think group / team / multi-voice blogs are an interesting part of Web 2.0.
- weblogs.asp.net turns off comments automatically much too early, IMHO (presumably to combat comment spam). For all the recent noise around my resume / job hunting posts, the most visited post on this blog is a rant about QPW files and the future of software - I wish I knew what all those visitors had to say! [sidebar: as of Dec '05 I was #3 on Google for qpw. I used to be #1. Weird.] For the curious few: "Using Firefox on Tablet PC" is the second most popular and "What does every VB.NET developer need to know?" is the third most popular. I *really* wish I was still getting comments on those. Perhaps I will repost them on http://www.ardentdev.com/blog.
See you over on the other blogs!
