Mark Fussell let's us in on what's we can expect in System.Xml in Whidbey. Note: So far this session is quite empty which is very surprising to me. I would have thought more people really care about this subject.

Drew comes through with in again. - WinFS: Schemas and Extensibility

What's New In System.Xml for Whidbey?

re: PDC2003::What's New In System.Xml for Whidbey?

It's actually just the same XPathDocument API that was in V1, but with capability of updates, change tracking, and a number of other new interface members. It should be fully backward-compatible. The name XPathDocument2 was chosen temporarily because we did not have time to be 100% certain there would be no breaking behavioral changes by folding the interface into the V1 interface, but by the time it ships that interface is gone and rolled back into XPathDocument again.

re: PDC2003::What's New In System.Xml for Whidbey?

Hello,

Can you expand on this `Note: XPathDocument2 in PDC bits will be XPathDocument once again by Beta 1. "We were at an unfortunate design stage at the point where the PDC bits were created."'?

Any idea of how the final api is actually going to look?
