VS 2005 - Available NOW to MSDN subscribers

Published 27 October 05 12:23 PM | dmckinstry

As of 10 minutes ago (noon CDT on Thursday), on my MSDN account I've logged in and have started downloading VS 2005 Team Suite.  The Professional, Standard and Express editions are also released.  SQL 2005 developer edition is also ready for download.

I don't see the individual Team editions and the Team Suite is a 180-day trial version.  I expect this has to do with the MSDN Univeral switch over that is in process.  I expect that we'll all see different sets of VSTS editions for download based on which upgrade path we chose.  (If you're not familiar with the switch over of MSDN licensing, READ THIS NOW!  I've heard both the end of this month and November 7th as the deadlines for subscription conversions, but I can't easliy find the facts to back that up.  In any case, if you haven't looked at the changes you should do so now!

As an aside, I can see the Team Foundation Server beta 3 online, but not the Beta 3 Refresh.  If you're downloading TFS to work with the released versions of Team Foundation Server, wait for the TFS Beta 3 Refresh!

Have fun!
