All-in-one search tool: X1

A few days ago, John Robb pointed to a new search tool: X1.  Since I often misplace my files and email, this is my new favorite tool.  I can search for filenames and file contents quickly, without having to wait for the slow little dog.  It also has a preview window that will highlight your search terms and show you the contents of many common files.

The email search is much quicker and easier than Outlook.  Overall, this is a great piece of software for people who are not quite as organized as they'd like to be (or people who have more files and emails than they can handle).

I give it two thumbs up.

Wow, intense! I'm a little leery since it's free, but I haven't seen any strangeness yet. I'm not a big fan of the interface, but I'm sure it'll help me find stuff more efficiently. I can't wait to put it on the work machine!
