Melbourne Geek Dinner and future Canberra Geek Dinners

While I was in Melbourne, I arranged to get a few of the guys together for a geek dinner.  This followed hot on that tail of the first one in Canberra a few weeks back.  People attending this one were:

· Cameron Reilley - http://reilly.typepad.com/ (Australian Podcasting mogul)
· Matthew Cosier - http://weblogs.asp.net/autocrat/ (Melbourne Microsoft guy and InfoPath extraordinaire)
· William Luu - http://www.will.id.au/blog/ (active Melbourne community guy)

...and the Readify guys :)

· Graeme Armstrong - Readify CEO (yeh& a geek!  Would you believe it?)
· Kim Peacocke - Readify marketing and communications gal
· Darren Neimke - http://weblogs.asp.net/DNeimke
· Joseph Cooney - http://dotnetjunkies.com/WebLog/josephcooney
· Bill Chesnut - http://biztalkbill.com
· Martin Granell - http://wah.onterra.net/blog
· Luke Drumm - http://lzcd.com

Whilst the conversation flowed well during the night the big thing to take out of this was that you really need a circular table setting if you have more than about 5 people.  We had 11 people at a noisy Italian restaurant and, with a long table which meant that we couldn't get a single conversation happening.

Future Geek Dinners
I'm currently planning some upcoming Geek dinners in Canberra so if you eat food and like a hearty discussion give me a ping and I'll let you know the "when and where".  The topic for the next dinner is likely to be "Tech-Ed".
