New Article on Synchronizing SQL Databases Online.
One of the things about having data everywhere is actually
getting
the data from here to there. A new article I wrote for Red Gate (
posted here
) explains how to use the Red Gate SQL Toolkit to do one-way synchronization from an intranet site to a remote Internet site.

There is no such thing as 'Distributed Transaction Services'. DTS stands for Data Transformation Services. There is a comoponent called DTC, the distributed transaction coridinator.
Red-Gates product is great, but the article is full of technical in accuracies, some glaring like the one mentioned above. I'm shocked this was even published.

Ouch! Sure enough. DTS does indeed mean Data Transformation Services. In looking at the article, I even refer to it as Distributed Transaction Processing in the article as originally published, and that does not even equal DTS!
All I can say is that there are way too many abbreviations. I will certainly look forward to hearing about any other inaccuracies and will work to correct them ASAP.
Thanks, Paul!
