Are Software Development Books Obsolete?

I don't think so, as I say here.

The Internet offers any numbers of ways to learn about software development, but it is difficult to do on a Web page the sort of thing that a good book can do.

What do you think?

I can't believe anyone has not decided to comment. Well i will. I think software development is best learned by book and trial and error. I took it in college and when i took it the first time the book was crappy and the reference online helped me only so much. I got a D i was like hell no, this can't be happening. So i went to the professor and he recommended a great work. Guess what! Got an A. With the good book, things made more sense, and i can read a book for a longer period of time than a screen. Althought i can play a pc game for hours ;) So there you have it. You are right.
