The End of a Dynasty, Perhaps
I played what may end up being my
last game of roller hockey on Wednesday night. Near the end of the first half I
caught a high stick in the face that cut my lip (no penalty, of course), but I
was able to get it patched up by the beginning of the second half. I decided to
tough it out and play the rest of the game. Unfortunately, on my first shift
back I twisted my ankle (or at least I think it’s twisted) and had to be helped
off of the rink.
I couldn’t walk on Thursday, so I
figured I’d spend the day at home relaxing to some healthy pseudo-violent
television. Although I don’t have an Internet connection (I rarely spend time at
my home) I am usually able to *borrow* bandwidth from a neighbor with a loose
WLAN. I guess they must have unplugged the access point from the Internet when
they went to work (I assume they work although I actually have no idea who it
is) because I could connect to their network, but couldn’t get to the Internet
(that selfish bastard).
Oh well,
here I am, two days later. I’ve hobbled into work, almost exclusively for the
Internet connection. Oh yeah, and the soda. Let’s hope the weekend brings
brighter days.
