I've decided to take some time off from blogging.
I know that I'm not going to be able to devote the time it needs
to keep the blog fresh and interesting, so I'm going to call it quits
for a while. Also, I'd rather not just let it slowly die from months of
neglect, which is an easy trap to fall into if you're not careful. Overall, this
seems like the right thing to do.
Thanks to everyone who has been reading and commenting. I hope it's been as
much fun for you to read as it has for me to write.
MSDN has launched the Mobility & Embedded Developer
Center at http://msdn.microsoft.com/mobility.
Hooray!
PS: It was with much fanfare
Apparently the other Ed
Kaim owns kaim.com. Go
figure.
My Futurama DVDs arrived this week. Looks like it'll be a
hard workin' weekend.
I almost forgot about this. The Microsoft Global
Briefing registration form asked for a preferred name. I didn't think they'd actually let
me get away with it...
Ahh, it's that time of year when Microsoft begins to
bring in the new college hires. It always reminds me of my youth whenever I hear
the pitter-patter of new hire feet running to and fro, all the livelong day.
Two of our new team members, in no particular order, are Shreyas
(who goes by the unassuming USERNAME--email here
to promote change) and Mario
(who, contrary to popular belief, does not even know a Luigi). We also had Brian start a few months ago, but he
hardly qualifies as interesting anymore.
This whole week has been kind of unproductive for
me. I can't stop reading other people's blogs and trying to come up with
something creative for my own. Failing that, I've copied a
few others by putting up that little PDC image up top with a
red bar behind it (complete with working link). The red will probably have to
go, but in the mean time it's nice to be a little different.
Such is life.
Back in March or April I learned that the
Deftones were going to be playing at Seahawks Stadium in July. I jumped on
ticketmaster.com so I could get my tickets before they sold out (I've missed
shows before due to procrastination). I was able to buy two tickets, although
they're pretty bad (way up in the nosebleed seats) but I didn't care--I love
these guys. Unfortunately, my Deftones-show-going partner wasn't able to make
this show, so I found myself with an extra ticket.
I know there are a bunch of coworkers who also like the Deftones and/or
other bands playing (Mudvayne, Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, Metallica), so I
invited them to take the last ticket. Unfortunately, the show begins at 2PM, and
everyone has conflicts. Even worse, some of them have extra tickets themselves
and now need to find good owners.
This is all part of the "Summer Sanitarium" tour, so I was wondering if anyone has gone to
any of the other shows. If so, what was the playing order? I assumed it would be
Mudvayne, Deftones, Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, Metallica, but it would be helpful
to know how late I can go and not miss the Deftones. Or at least my fiancee will
appreciate knowing how late we can go--she's been enlisted as the new
fan :-)
Check out http://travel.howstuffworks.com/air-force-one.htm for
information on Air Force One. Pretty cool.
