In this video clip, Brian Goldfarb, a Product Manager for the Web Tools team talks to us about how Microsoft values the feedback from the community and how they are listening.

Video - Rocky Lhotka - When it rains it pours....

There is running joke in Chattanooga about knowing if there is a .NET user group meeting by looking up in the sky. During our user groups first year of operation, it seemed as if it rained nearly every time we had our monthly meeting. Sure, the weather might be beautiful for the next three and half weeks, but the clouds always rolled back in for the next meeting.

Last November, we were fortunate to have Rocky Lhotka come and present to our group. For this meeting though, the weather was particularly bad. It was one of the worst storms we had seen locally in quite some time. Oddly enough, despite the weather, we had one of the best turnouts that our group has seen. Here, Rocky tells his version of the story.

And we would do it all over it again given the opportunity,

Video - Chris Anderson talks about Channel9

You've probably seen Chris before at some of the major Microsoft conferences, or on MSDN-TV. Chris and Don Box have done a couple of episodes of MSDN-TV together showing off Longhorn.        First Episode | Christmas Special Episode

If haven't had a chance to check out Microsoft's new Channel9 community web site, you really should. The web site is full of great forums and videos that will give you a view into what is going on at Microsoft. You will find a new video posted on Channel9 with Chris talking about XAML.Go check it out!

Video - Lori Moore speaks on MVPs and shares a funny story

I had the opportunity to talk meet Lori Moore and talk with her about the Microsoft community. We talked about Microsoft MVPs and some future plans for the MVP program. Lori also shared a good story about the Microsoft MVP Community banding together to save the MVP program.

I was also able to hear the same story in greater detail from long time MVP and Regional Director Thomas Lee when Julie and I went to check out the Presidential Suite at the Westin Seattle that Thomas was staying in. (That's another story altogether)

Here's the Video:

I also met MS Corporate VP Rich Kaplan, and the funny thing about talking to Lori and Rich is that you feel very comfortable while doing so. They both seemed like 'down to earth' people who are passionate about Microsoft technologies.

Video - Kent Sharkey unmasked and talking about MVPs

For those of you out there who don't know who Kent Sharkey is, he is one of the content strategist for the ASP.NET web site at Microsoft. So if you have ever been to the MSDN web site, and followed the link to the ASP.NET web site then you've probably seen this picture of Kent:

Well here is Kent unmasked, and talking about the importance of Microsoft MVPs.

Thanks Kent, for shooting this footage with me, and reminding everyone of how much the community means to Microsoft.

Forgotten footage.......

While I was at the Microsoft MVP Summit, 2 fun and unique things occured:

#1. I was allowed to wonder around with my video equipment because I was shooting footage for the INETA Resource DVD.

#2. I ran into all kinds of Microsoft folks and was able to get their feedback and opinions on different topics on film.

Beginning today, I will start sharing some of these videos with you through my blog. As much as I talk about my love of the Microsoft community, I figured it was time to show you what the folks at Microsoft themselves had to say about it. So sit back, enjoy, and spread the community love....

-Eric.
