    Microsoft 10 Awakens!

My boss, Jeff and Scoble just blogged about the launch of 10!  The short answer for 10 is that it's a site for technology enthusiasts.  That may seem very general, but it is on person.  We will be covering pretty much anything that's interesting related to technology.  Health, education, music, gaming, you name it.  The community around 10 will help shape our content down the road.

Every day (M-F) at 10:00 AM PST we will launch a new video as well as a video at the end of the week to wrap it all together into one with some easter eggs in between each video.  Grab some RSS and keep coming back.  We want to hear what you think about the site and the content!

We currently have a health blog and a video blog for the show.  In the future we will be adding more blogs to hit other important topics in technology.  Some will be powered by Microsoft employees.  Some will be run by people in the community.

Now since weblogs.asp.net is a cool development community, I'd like to hear what you all think of the site?  We're pretty proud of it.  Especially since the 3 of us did it in less than 5 weeks.  We're using ASP.NET 2.0, SQL Server 2005 and some Atlas.  If you're interesting in hearing some more about it.  Check out Channel 9 (the video will be live soon).  I will be writing some articles on some things down the road related to how we built 10.

    Check out the first video

We'd love to hear your feedback.  Enjoy!  :)

    5 weeks, 5 weeks, Wow!

I'd love to hear about the first 2 weeks, how you made decisions, and what kind of challenges you faced.

    Great work.

The content does not excite me whatsoever. Except for maybe the health blog, since I work in the healthcare/research industry. But the HC blog seems so out of character with the faux "we're soooooo excited and hip and cool" tone of the KEXP video. Maybe it's just fallout from the ex G4 hosts?

However, the implementation of the site is excellent. The fact that I can read the comments w/o having to scroll away from the video is great. Maintaining my position in the comment list between postbacks is a good idea. Intentional? ;)

Everything is always intentional, right? ;) No really, yes...intentional. Glad you like the site itself. Sorry you don't like the content. Actually it just sounds like you don't like the enthusiasm of the hosts. Can't get around it to enjoy the content itself. We have a TON planned. Lots of cool stuff. What's interesting about this project is that we're all (even the dev team) helping with content, so it's not just what's hip and cool to a tv audience like G4, it's about what all tech enthusiasts would find entertain. We'd all love to hear your feedback, so jump on 10 and let us know. The community is going to help shape where we go with it, so join in! :)
