EAServe.com - Windows 2003 / ASP.NET 1.1 (and 2.0 Beta 1) Hosting

EAServe.com - ASP.NET Web Site Hosting

I just wanted to take a second and mention that I have moved the CodeSmith website over to EAServe and that I have been so incredibly impressed with their service that I wanted to let you all know about it.  I didn't want to move to yet another host that has nothing but problems and so I started investigating a few hosts that had been recommended to me by various people.  Here are some of the things that I was looking at:

  • Uptime - I started monitoring several sites that are hosted at EAServe about 3 months ago and was very impressed with their uptime.
  • Price - They have shared accounts starting at $9.95/month that include ASP.NET and SQL Server and their dedicated server pricing is very competitive.
  • Features - I am a bleeding edge kind of guy and want a host that at least attempts to keep up with the current technology.  I think the fact that they already have test accounts for ASP.NET 2.0 speaks for itself on this one.
  • Support - This is a hard one to judge before you become an actual customer, but I can tell you that so far their support has been very responsive to every one of my sometimes stupid questions.  They even have support via instant messenger.

You are a high profile person Erik. What does this have to do with EAServe? You basically set EAServer up as a skeet from the Microsoft lawyers.

ASP.NET Whidbey (or whatever code-name people call it today :-)) has not been given the production license as of the current date. The license is only due with beta 2!

Justin,

I checked with EAServe before mentioning the ASP.NET 2.0 (Whidbey) test accounts because I had the same concerns. EAServe told me that they have been in contact with the Microsoft development team and have been told that they are OK to offer test accounts as long as they are not used for production purposes.

Thanks,
Eric J. Smith

On their site it looks like they clearly state:

"This account is for testing only and is not intended for production use. Clients will receive their own Sub Domain and FTP Access to test the new features of ASP.NET 2.0."

Seems OK to me.

Yep. EAServe rocks. We started our site on a shared environment. Anytime I had questions or needed assistance, EAServe was always there. We liked them so much, we are now on a dedicated solution that they maintain.

A major plus is that our server resides at The Planet in Dallas. The Planet's facilities are top-notch.

I highly recommend EAServe for ASP.NET hosting.
