As a result, we have the ability to structure AD and privileges with Sharepoint in mind. That being said, I am assuming that the more we do in AD, the better provided we can use a tool like ILM to control access with granular administrative privileges. Am I ridiculously naive?

I recently heard at the Best Practices Conferences that there is a limit to the number of SharePoint Groups that can exist in one Site Collection. I was hoping to get confirmation on this.

If true, does this include all groups listed at the top level site ..._layouts/groups.aspx (AD & SP)?

Thanks.
