News: Microsoft releases the final version of Live Messenger 8 – Tech Connect.

On Monday June 19th Microsoft released the final version of its new Live messenger platform to more than 240 million users. Microsoft's new offer comes with basically every modern messaging feature out there from standard chat to PC-to-PC calling and even PC-to-phone calling, the latter being available for a small fee.

Hot News: Microsoft to overhaul Windows graphic driver model – Neowin.net

The Windows Display Driver Model (WDDM) 1.0 will undergo improvements in the way it shares GPU resources between programs and Windows itself. Steve Pronovost of Microsoft’s DirectX team disclosed at WinHEC in Seattle last week that although the WDDM 1.0 introduces some rudimentary task scheduling for GPUs, a new generation of GPU hardware and a major architectural change to the way Windows deals with video cards will be required.
