How does Microsoft see Silverlight's future?

Mary-Jo Foley offers an article you must read if you are using Silverlight or plan to: Microsoft: Our strategy with Silverlight has shifted.

So what’s a developer to make of Microsoft’s messaging (or lack thereof) about Silverlight at its premiere developer conference?

Of course, there is no official announcement from Microsoft in that article. But Microsoft's quietness about Silverlight during the PDC, except for Windows Phone 7 development, is precisely what's confusing.
Add to this renewed hyperactivity in Redmond around ASP.NET, HTML and JavaScript and you'll get even more confusion.

Update: Official Microsoft followup.
Update 2: Scott Guthrie's message about this.

OData feeds for Proagora.com

There's a new OData kid on the block: The data from Proagora.com is now available as OData.

Proagora + OData

As on the website, data published as OData is about jobs, companies, and experts.

Sesame Proagora EntitySets

Two feeds are available, one for each of the languages supported by Proagora at the moment:

Of course, you can use your favorite OData explorer to browse these feeds:

These OData feeds exhibit several interesting features of Sesame Data Browser, such as:

  • Rich and easy navigation in data
Sesame Proagora Navigation Company Sesame Proagora Navigation Domain
  • Pictures and Web hyperlinks
Sesame Proagora Pictures and Hyperlinks

Known issue: Columns/properties selection ($select) fails with an error. I haven't found a solution yet.

Please give this a go and send me your feedback.

Gentle reminder: have you published your profile on Proagora.com? ;-)

LINQ or Lync?

There's a new "link" from Redmond. It's not LINQ this time, but Lync.
Isn't it great to have two names colliding in the Microsoft world?

Is someone working on LINQ to Lync?
