LINQ or Lync?

There's a new "link" from Redmond. It's not LINQ this time, but Lync.
Isn't it great to have two names colliding in the Microsoft world?

Is someone working on LINQ to Lync?

I really wish the persons responsible for "Lync" gave a little more thought to the name. I have enough problems explaining technology to pointy-haired bosses without these name conflicts. What's next out of Redmond? A new technology called "Wyndoze"?

It's frustrating.  Are we really out of names? I'm sure they thought about how this would lead to confusion.  Is one going to consume the other?  Are they at all related?  Maybe they think I'll pursue these questions and then get excited about their product.  Instead I'm going to take a hands off approach and hope it all sorts itself out.
