Build a Registration and Login Control

Posted Saturday, January 31, 2004 12:19 AM by G Andrew Duthie

My latest article on the MSDN ASP.NET Developer Center is up. It walks through the process of building a server control that allows simplified registration and login using Forms Authentication against an XML credentials file (of course, you can easily modify the control to use whatever credential store you’d like). Take a look, and if you have any comments, I’d love to hear them.

I’ve also got an article in the editing pipeline on the new caching features in ASP.NET Whidbey, including custom cache dependencies, database-driven cache invalidation, and post-cache substitution. I’ll post another update when that one goes live.

Slick article...and a sweet control - I like it! Funny...I always pegged you as a C# guy...I don't know why. :)

Adding support for templates would be a nice addition.

VGA,

That's a good idea for a follow-on article...I'll definitely keep it in mind.
