So...

The big announcement that I hinted at last week is that, as of today, I have assumed the role of. NET developer evangelist with Microsoft, working in the East region. I want to say thanks to all the folks who've helped me develop the skills to get here, particularly my friends at INETA and ASPInsiders. I'm looking forward to helping folks in my new role. Though it may take me some time to get up to speed, feel free to ping me via the Contact link if I can be of assistance.

UPDATE: I'm ashamed to admit that I forgot to thank a very important group of people...the MVPs. Between my leads, my fellow ASP.NET MVPs, and others I've met through the program, I learned a good deal, and had a lot of fun. Thanks to Ben, John, and the rest for honoring me with the award, and for being great colleagues and friends.

Congratulations! You know, I took a serious look at that exact position offering and wondered whether to make the "plunge" and interview. It's good to see someone of your caliber accept the opportunity. All the best.

Woah, congrats man. So no more whupping my ass at Halo at the insiders meet then. Someone else I know has just taken an evang job in Redmond, and I reckon it's the best job going - you get to play with new stuff _and_ tell people about it.

Thanks for all the kind words.

Dylan, I don't know if the blog will end up moving. I hope not, since I'm not a big fan of broken links. I think it's possible for my blog to be moved from the non-MS main feed to the MS main feed without moving it off weblogs.asp.net, but I'm not certain of that.

Lamont, perhaps you will make the jump next time. It took me a while to decide that this is what I wanted to do. I've known for some time that if I was going to go back to work full-time for someone else, it would only be for Microsoft (I've been working for myself for the last 3 years). When this position came along, it was a good fit, and the right time.

David, no beer for me, but I'll take a Diet Coke if I'm in town.

Milan, I'm working out of the DC office right now, but I'll probably also be spending some of my time in Reston, which is a little closer to home. So not quite North-East, but I'm sure I'll make it up that way at least occasionally.

Dave, I'm sure we can still find some time for me to whup your ass in Halo, particularly once Halo 2 is out and we can battle across the pond. :-D

On the blogs.msdn.com question -- you're already there ;)
http://blogs.msdn.com/gad/archive/2004/07/19/187750.aspx#Feedback

Blogs.msdn.com is just a DNS alias for weblogs.asp.net, so you can use either. It's a little different for the home page, where it represents basically the same content as http://weblogs.asp.net/?GroupID=2

Congratulations Dude!! I'm sure you will be happy with your decision, especially after seeing what Microsoft has in store for the world :)

I'm also with the East coast region (out of the NYC office), with any luck we will get the chance to work together in the future.

So, good luck and prepare yourself for the firehose :)

Hi SB,

I don't know how likely it is that I'd get up as far as CT. I'm working out of the Mid-Atlantic district office, and I'm pretty sure we've got evangelists who are specifically focused on the greater NY area. But I'll probably be blogging any scheduled travel events, so if I'm up your way, it should be on my blog.

I have had a desk job for over 15 years now and fitness at the office has always been an issue.  Until a friend recommended a certain product to me.  Look into it, it will be worth it!  It has been discovered that many people who are chronically overweight are silently suffering from a condition that they may not even be aware of… Leptin resistance.

This is the first product on the market to work directly on the brain to effectively address Leptin resistance.

The Leptin hormone controls the two most important factors regarding your weight. Go To http://www.GoGetThin.com
