About Grant Barrington

Who am I

My name is Grant Barrington. I live in Sydney, Australia and work in the south-western suburbs of Sydney in Liverpool.

I was married on the 29th February 2004 (yes, leap year), and have 1 child that was born EXACTLY four years later on 29th February 2008 (coincidence?!?!). We are already planning many a Mad Hatters Tea Party to celebrate his unbirthdays.

What I do

I am the Technical Director of Ellington. Ellington is a small company specializing in web applications. We have products for the Residential Construction, Insurance (both Brokers and Underwriters) and integration with Microsoft Dynamics NAV.

The technologies we specialize in are primarily on the Microsoft stack

• Microsoft ASP.NET (C#)
• Microsoft SQL Server

Prior to working for Ellington I had the following jobs:

• Ellington : Technical Director : 2004 - present
• IQMS : ASP Web Developer : 2003 - 2004
• Integra Information System : 1998 - 2003

What I do for fun

When I'm not working I try to do any of the following:

• bushwalking - I really enjoy getting out and walking. I've done a few big walks. There are a few more on the bucket list.
• canyoning
• Mountain bike riding
• rock-climbing (I do this less and less now)
